Lessons in Social Media from Christmas Favourites: Elf

In honour of the Christmas season, we will be sharing 1 blog post a week inspired by Christmas movie favourites. In each post, we will share one tip on how you can improve your social media marketing through the holidays and into the new year.

This Week’s Feature: Elf
The 2003 Will Ferrell movie, Elf, is an homage to the overly-enthusiastic holiday celebrators among us. If you’re one of them, own it! As the film’s eponymous Buddy the Elf says, “The best way to spread holiday cheer/generate leads is singing loud for all to hear.”

Lesson in the Movie:
Show your work and be proud of it! Using photo posts of your products and holiday-themed displays on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram can boost audience engagement and awareness with those products. Host a holiday contest that can really boost your audience’s engagement as well! (Here are good tips to launch a Facebook contest). If you’re not already on Pinterest, you might find it a useful tool to highlight your creativity year-round!
